Welcome to The BIG City's website. "The BIG City" is a term we came up with to help people grasp the population density and the overwhelming commercial and industrial growth around the Level area. Level is so big that it doesn't even have it's own post office. Level doesn't even have a four way stop never mind a traffic light. If you don't count the blinking one four miles from the firehouse.
Truthfully, Level is just an intersection off of two backroads that 90% of Harford County drives past everyday and doesn't even know is there. Sitting at the intersection you can see a few houses, a farm, an auto garage, antique store, and finally, the firehouse. The area we protect consists of the northwest outskirts of Havre de Grace and the northern parts of Aberdeen and Churchville. Now going between these areas would put you in "The BIG City" as we like to call it. The area is primarily residential and aguricultural, that is, when you're not just out in the woods somewhere.
About a year ago my friends and I started joking about Level being a big city and started casually referring to it as "The BIG City" and the name has been used ever since to refer to the firehouse and the general Level area. So, if you're ever at the intersection of Level Village Road and Old Level Road, remember, even though you think you're in a scene from an old western movie, you're actually in "The Big City".
